Call to Action on Deregulation as Permitting Reform

Urgent: The Senate is voting on a bill to fast-track data centers and dirty energy on MONDAY.

The Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 (BAAJA) threatens to lock in fossil fuel pollution, accelerate data center buildout, silence community input, and cause generational harm to people and the planet. It perpetuates environmental racism, sacrifices Tribal sovereignty, and strikes at the foundations of policies that keep our communities safe from corporations more concerned with profit than people and planet.  As UUs, accepting BAAJA would make us complicit in harm to the very lives we hold sacred. The Senate plans to vote on it on Monday, November 9 – even though this week’s midterm results demonstrate that the American people want their representatives to reign in Big Tech and Big Oil.

Here’s how you can fight back:
If you have five minutes
